LETTER FROM LA CONNI
September 10, 2003

Dear Friends, Fans, Family,

I've had the pleasure of running into some of y'all here and there, out and about, and I've been asked many times when and where the heck we're playin!  It always makes me feel so good to know we're missed.

Here's what's goin' on:

Family being our number one priority, we kept our schedule open more and more to care for my grandmother for the past several years.  My father's mother, Granny Ruth, was the angel and hostess at the famous Cotton Club and maintained a gentle, deep love of life for 96 1/2 years.  When she passed away so beautifully, gracefully last month we decided to take a deep breath before making any new commitments to a regular party.

Meanwhile and in between trips to Lubbock:

Traci has been working on her own recording project that is a musical dream come true.  In some respects it's a departure from anything she's ever done.  Because it's unlike anything else we've done and because she's striving for the highest quality, she's taking her time with it.  This is her masterpiece and it's very important to all of us.

I have been working on releasing any and all music that we have that's never been released on CD and, also, on a comprehensive website.   We haven't 'officially' launched it because there are some important additions that I'm wanting to make.   I'm working specifically on a huge Thank You for our Announcements page,  descriptions of the CD's we have for sale and the Supernatural Publishing page.  With that in mind, please do take a peek at www.texanadames.com.

In effort to create the sleeves for the CD's my mother, Charlene, began sorting and organizing pictures and other mementos.  We discovered that it's essential that we do archiving and preservation of our 50 year's worth of Akashic Recordings if we are to save them in this dimension for our future generations.

NOW:

One thing has led to another and we find ourselves transported from honky tonks and Mexican restaurants to museums and universities!?  The shift is strange and fun.  With a lot of help we are applying for grants to help us do what needs to be done.  We love to play music and we miss y'all.  However, the shift back and forth between worlds is more than we can deal with right now.

What's next?

Who knows?  We do know that we wont be at Jovita's on Sept.13th as we originally announced.  In fact, we wont be there until further notice.  Our only planned public party will be at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar on Christmas Eve.  We hope to see you there!

Please take care, dear friends.  Visit us at our website.  Keep us posted on what you know and what you wonder about.  We'll be in touch too.

Remember that sometimes when we stumble it's just a jumpstart to get us to dancin'!

With Love,

La Conni

it's a whole story . . .
