In
March of 2010 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. My HAAM appointed
general doctor suspected tumor & it was confirmed via CT scan. About the
size of a grapefruit.
I was referred
to Shivers Cancer Center (who works with HAAM) and assigned to an
oncologist who I got along with very well. I liked his manner &
approach. I have had nothing but good experiences with both doctors and
all the nurses at Brackenridge and at Shivers. I know that sounds hard
to believe and I am amazed that I could be so lucky but it is true!
In May of that
year I had a full hysterectomy. It took six months to recover and I
enjoyed being healthy until I started experiencing symptoms again in
April 2011. I was diagnosed with recurrence of the same in May 2011.
This time there were multiple tumors.
I started chemo
right away and have just finished my fifth treatment. The tumors seem to
be shrinking. We will probably do another CT scan after the sixth
(possibly the eighth) chemo, then make a decision on what to do next.
Many, many
people have donated time, energy, money and love to help me take an
active role in my health. This has helped me conserve my energy simply
for me. It's probably the most important point I would like to make as I
don't think it would be possible without this wonderful support system.
The most
prominent things that I am doing besides chemo are:
-
First and
foremost, staying true to the teachings of my guru, Prem Rawat (also
known as Maharaji).
-
Diet and
supplements (a whole story!)
-
Acupuncture
and chinese herbs
-
Jin Shin
-
Massage and
chiropractic
-
Music
-
Visualization
-
Energy
treatments
-
Love
